Ms. Kristian Yim

English - Virtual/In Person - (JK-Grade 12)

Hello, my name is Kristian. I am an experienced English teacher with more than 9 years of experience. I have taught in diverse settings with students from many different cultures. I have taught in a South African elementary school, local elementary schools and online to children in China. I have taught and delivered personal lessons on book reports, essay writing and creative writing while focusing on English skills. I have a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Children Studies. My degree focused on understanding children and the best ways of working with children. Many of my courses required me to both read and analyze children’s literature. My class will involve reading many childhood favourite books ( e.g.; Where the Wild Things Are, Charlottes Web, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, etc). My goal is to choose material children will love and engage with. My students will love and look forward to their creative writing class. I want to inspire my students to enjoy reading and really use their imagination to create amazing stories. Currently my tutored students are from private schools (PACE, UTS) and majority elementary schools & high schools in Markham and Richmond Hill areas.
